Black Oxide, 18k 1.1 Stub, BB, and OBB Nibs!

Posted by on Jan 28 2016, in New Pens

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m very happy to announce that we have some new nibs to introduce.

First off is a really neat Black Oxide nib.  Previously, I really liked the looks of ruthenium nibs, but these Black Oxide nibs have them beat hands down!  See pic below.

This Black Oxide nib is available in Steel only, and #6 size only (sorry, no #5 Black Oxide yet).

In addition to this, we also have some new additions to our 18k nib tip offerings.

We can now offer our 18k nibs in 1.1mm Stub, Double Broad (BB), and Oblique Double Broad (OBB).  I won’t include photos of these nibs, as they will look identical to our normal 18k nibs.  Only the tip will look different.

So let’s rundown all of the nibs and tip sizes that Edison can offer….

Two Tone, Single Tone, and Black Oxide
EF, F, M, B, 1.1 and 1.5 italic

Two Tone and Rhodium Plated
EF, F, M, B, 1.1 Stub, BB, and OBB

If you have any questions, feel free to each out!

Hello Mr. Gray. I hope all is well and that message reaches you in the best of health. You may recall making a “stealth” Huron for me not too long ago. I was wondering however when you anticipate having the size 5 nib in stock please?

    • Thanks Mohammed! Sorry, but there are no plans that I know of for Black Oxide #5 nibs right now. However, I will tell the manufacturer that there is demand for it.

Thank you thank you for showing love for the broader nib sizes! My new OBB nib is absolutely to die for on my not-quite-as-new-Beaumont.
It seems even Broad nibs are harder and harder to come by, with some pens I’ve admired recently losing me with their “you can get any nib you want so long as it’s Fine or Medium!” approach. I like fine and medium, don’t get me wrong, but I LOVE my OBB.
Thanks again for never narrowing the options you provide. You, and your pens, are fantastic. I will definitely be coming back for more…

    • Thanks for the comments, DevilBunny! I agree completely about having plenty to offer!

    Hi Brian
I think there is definitely demand for #5 black nibs. Happy to get one if/when they get released!

    • I have mentioned this, but I don’t think that there are plans right now. 🙁
