Well, the LE Pearl Group buy has concluded on our end. The LE Pearls are waiting on FedEx to arrive today to pick them up. If you participated in this group buy, you can expect your pen to arrive hopefully this week!

Yep, there is another LE Group Buy going on right now!

The nice guys over at Badger and Blade have commissioned a Limited Edition Herald Grande.

If you are not familiar, Badger and Blade is a forum dedicated to wet-shaving. Wet-shaving and fountain pens seem to go hand in hand (those guys certainly have me hooked on wetshaving!).

Badger and Blade does have their own forum dedicated to Fountain Pens called The Nib. This forum is easily the second largest fountain pen forum on the net, so be sure to check it out. It's a great resource, and a wonderful forum. I swear that Badger and Blade is one forum in particular that is completely devoid of trolls and nastiness. I have never seen such a friendly bunch of people congregate on the net!

You don't need to be a wetshaver to participate in The Nib or The Herald Grande LE, so be sure to head over there and have a look around. If you happen to get hooked on wetshaving like I did by heading over there, then no harm!

The LE Herald Grande will be in Blue/Black Swirl Ebonite, and will be priced at $175. That's $100 less than retail. The buying period will conclude on Wednesday of this week, so there's only a couple of days left.

Introducing the Edison Nouveau Encore!

Hi Pen Fans!

Well, the Edison Nouveau Encore is ready!

This is a pen that marks a couple of new items for the Edison Pen Company.

First is the use of centerbands on a production pen. Next is a medallion that is inset into the finial. Last is the use of #5 engraved nibs.

This the smallest pen that we have manufactured so far....smaller than the Mina. All specifications can be found on the Goulet site.

This pen is available exclusively through the Goulet Pen Company. Price is $185.

Urushi Minas Are Ready to Go!

Well, the Urushi Minas are read to ship! I'm very happy with how these turned out. Ernest with Hakumin Urushi has outdone himself! If you would like to see the entire process of how these pens were made, please Click Here of the Urushi Mina Main Page.

These pens will come equipped with an 18k nib in either F, M, or B. Nibs can also be customized. The pen fills as a cartridge/converter, but can also be outfitted as an eyedropper if you wish.

Price is $850. We are taking orders now. The series will be limited to 20 pens. The first 10 are ready to ship. The second 10 will be ready to ship in about a month.

THREE Projects Coming Together Around the Same Time, and PINTEREST!

Hi Pen Fans!

Well, things have been crazy here at the Edison Pen Company lately.

We currently have three projects going on in addition to our usual Signature Line and Production Line.

All three of these projects will be coming together around the same time! If you wish, you can call it The Perfect Storm of Pen Perfection! The three projects that will be coming together in the next couple of weeks are....

1. The Mina Urushi Project is just about ready! The pens are in transit to me as we speak. I am hoping that they are here tomorrow. Granted that they are, I'll get final photos taken, and we'll officially launch the pen. I'm really looking forward to this one! The technique has blown me away. Even I have not yet seen the final product! So as soon as we have these pens ready to go, we'll announce it here on the website. Barring something unforeseen, they will be ready to go this week.

2. The Grays and Goulets will have another joint project that will launch in the next week or so. This will be the next installment of the Edison Nouveau line. There is not a lot that I can say about this project, except that I'm super-excited about it, and that I'm also super-proud of it. The Goulet's will have some sneak-peek-pics happening very soon, so be sure to check out Gouletpens.com or their blog at Inknouveau.com.

3. The Pearl Group Buy is going to be ready to ship sooner than later. This project has been a fun one, for sure. The pens are still under construction, but we will have them ready to go sooner than promised!

Personally, I feel that Pinterest is where things are going with Social Media. I've been active with Pinterest for the last 3-4 weeks, and I like it a lot.

Urushi Mina Update! We're at the Home Stretch!

Hi Pen Fans!

Well, the Urushi Mina Project is coming to a close.

We anticipate shipping these pens the week of April 9th!

Before I get ahead of myself, here's a photo update....

But this is only a teaser. Be sure to visit the Urushi Mina Project Page for the complete update, showing all details and steps.

As stated, these pens will be ready to ship the week of April 9th.

All of these pens will be first come, first serve. Here's how it will work...

When the pens are ready to ship, we will make a blog announcement to officially open the buying process. This will be a blog post here on the Edison Pen website. Final pictures will also be posted at that time.

If you want to make sure that you get this announcement immediately, I recommend that you subscribe to the Edison Pen Co blog. On the upper-right side of the Edison website, you'll see a box that says "subscribe". By inserting your email, you'll get all the Edison updates automatically to your inbox. If you received this announcement via email, then you already subscribe.

The first 10 pens will be ready to ship the week of April 9th. The second set of 10 pens will be ready to ship approximately a month later, so early/mid May. But we will accept money on all 20 pens when the buying period officially opens.

Price will be $850 and then $20 domestic shipping. International shipping will be quoted for each order. The pen will come with an 18k nib in your choice of F, M, B, or customized to your specifications.

Current Inventory Updated, Pearl Group Buy, and Production Collier....

Hi Pen Fans.

Three things to cover within this blog post....

1. Current Inventory has been updated since the LA Pen Show. There are around 50 new pens there, including about 12 bulb fillers. Click here for the gallery.

2. There is a group buy in progress at the Fountain Pen Network. The pen will be a clipped Pearl. If you have ever wanted to get a Pearl at a lower price, go here for details.

3. The material for the Production Line Collier in Antique Marble is going through a very small change. The manufacturer slightly changed the color. See the photo below.

The new version is on the left. The old version is on the right.

I think that you can see that the difference is very very slight. There is a little bit less orange. This difference is so slight, that I hesitated to even announce it, but I felt it was best do do so.

There are no more of the original versions left, so from now on, all of the retailers will be carrying this slightly less orange color.

Post LA Inventory, and FP Geeks...

Hi Pen Fans.

There are two topics with this quick post.

First, we have a lot of new pens that we brought to the LA Pen Show but did not sell. So keep an eye out...later this week, we'll have the Current Inventory Gallery updated with a lot of new pens ready to ship, including about 10 new bulb fillers.

Second, I quickly wanted to mention a new fountain pen website that I'm really excited about. It's not everyday that I go out of my way to promote and endorse a pen blog, but this is no ordinary blog.

FPGeeks.com is run by two great fellows named Eric Schneider and Dan Smith. I had known Eric from previous pen shows, but I got a chance to meet both Eric and Dan as a duo at the LA Pen Show, had a great dinner, and got to know each of them a lot better.

I'm really impressed with FPGeeks.com. It's not every pen blog that has the following features....

1. Weekly Podcast
2. Weekly "Geek of the Week" Interview (every week, you will get to hear a major player in the pen industry interviewed in a very candid and fun manner...personally, I've learned a lot more about some people in the industry.)
3. A forum which has already become one of the larger ones in a very short time.
4. Excellent live coverage of the Pen Shows, as well as one of the most comprehensive pen show schedules that I've seen.
5. Awesome Reviews to help you decide which products will be the best decision for you.
6. Two very ambitious fellows who really know how to run a website as well as conduct invterviews and podcasts.

So I recommend that you add them to your Blog Reader, iTunes Podcast, or simply bookmark them. I have been interviewed as a "Geek of the Week". I also participated in this weeks Podcast, and I truly had a lot of fun with both.

Like I said, rarely would I go out of my way to heavily endorse and promote a pen blog, but this is a blog that I personally visit often, and find very valuable. They've only been around for about 6 months, but already they have lots of good content, which will only get better and become an even larger library of fountain pen goodness!

Heading to LA!

Hi Pen Fans!

We're all packed up and ready for the LA Pen Show!

We'll have around 250 pens with us, and plenty of bulb fillers.

Just like most pen shows, we never had time to photograph all the new inventory that we've made, so after the show, we'll photograph what did not sell and put those pens in the Current Inventory Gallery.

If I'm slow on emails, you'll know why.
