A Great Chicago Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

Chicago was another great pen show! We brought our 7 year old to his first full three days at a pen show, and he did great! He managed to acquire more pens than I did! We decided to stay a few extra days to show our son the city, so we just got home late last night....pretty exhausted!

I'll try my best to get through my emails today, but please allow me until Thursday or Friday if you are expecting an email from me as there are a ton to get through. Until then, below is a slide show of the Pen Show, and a few pics from our time in the city!

Hi Pen Fans!

First off, I need to apologize as I will not be able to do a current inventory video like I normally do for the Pen Shows.

With the Stealth Pen, the LE Morgan, the Tweaks for Geeks Seminar, some new developments that I can't reveal yet, and our normal routine on top of all this, things have been crazy busy here lately! My time is pretty limited today, and getting a video recorded, edited, rendered, and hosted will not fit in the schedule, sorry!

So all of this aside, we're getting packed for the Chicago Pen Show today! We'll be leaving tomorrow, returning around the 8th. If I'm slow with emails, you'll know why.

We'll be bringing somewhere in the range of 250 pens with us, including around 40-45 pneumatics!

We look forward to seeing you in the Windy City!

Another Great LA Pen Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We're back from LA and quite exhausted! We'll take today and probably tomorrow off, but I will do my best to catch up on some emails today.

In the meantime, I will share some of my photos from the show. Unfortuntately, we were packed so full of pens, that we didn't have any room in our luggage for my good camera! So here's some iPhone photos....and also not very many! The LA Show was so busy this year that I really didn't have much time to get my usual number or photos.

LA Pen Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We will be leaving for the LA Pen Show soon. If I'm slow with emails this weekend, you'll know why.

Below is a video showing all of the pens that we'll be bringing with us.

The response to our Pneumatic Filling Beaumont has been amazing in the last couple of months. We've been real busy making those pens in preparation for this show. Currently, we have almost 80 Pneumatic Beaumont pens ready to sell!

A Great Show in Philly!

Hi Pen Fans!

As usual, the Philadelphia Pen Show was wonderful!

There was a great article written in the Philadelphia PBS Online Newspaper if you'd like to read it.

Our newest pen, the Beaumont Pneumatic, was a huge hit! The response to this new pen was wonderful!

Normally at pen shows, I'm able to get lots of photos, but at this particular pen show, I was able to get about half of the photos as I normally would. That's how busy we were!

Slideshow of my photos are below. In particular, take a look at the Custom Bookbindings by Raymond Townsend! He's a newcomer to the pen shows, and I was definitely entralled with his work!

I'm catching up on emails now and will continue to do so tomorrow, so if anyone is expecting an email from me, you'll get by lunchtime tomorrow!

Michigan Was Great, But Our 7 Year Old Had The Most Fun, Thanks to the PCA!

Hi Pen Fans!

We had a great time at the Michigan Pen Show. Albeit a smaller show, it's definitely worth the trip. I recommend attending even if you have a significant drive. This is a show that we attended this year for the first time, and we will be returning.

I could write my typical summary of a pen show, and I could share my typical pen show pictures....but I forgot my camera (darn!), and there is a much more interesting topic to discuss...

We brought along Andrew, our 7-year-old to his first pen show! He had a blast...mostly thanks to the PCA!

Andrew made out with around 8 pens...much more than me! He helped us set up and tear down our display and also helped us arrange the pens, materials samples, and our overall display. He loved checking out all of the dealer's tables and learning more and more about pens!

But most importantly, he really enjoyed the Pen Collectors of America's Pens for Kids presentation by Ralph Stilwell.

Seriously, folks....not only to do I recommend that YOU get to the pen shows if you have not, but I highly recommend that you bring your kids to the pen shows! They will enjoy the show overall, but the PCA will always have a great presentation aimed at the younger generations.

The PCA is an organization that is very important to our little hobby, but they do not always get the recognition that they deserve, my opinion.

If you are not a member of the PCA, I would encourange you to consider membership. It will only cost you $40 annually to support this wonderful organization. Besides supporting an organization who does great things for our hobby including getting younger generations excited about pens, you will also receive a subscription to The Pennant, a magazine that I personally find very valuable and informative.

I've been attending most of then pen shows for the last 6-7 years. At every show, I always hear that the announcement that the PCA Pens For Kids presentation is happening, and I always appreciate it, but honestly....I never fully understood it until I saw the look in my own 7 year old's eyes and got some feedback direct from him afterwards!

And don't forget.....Andrew has grown up in a penmaking house! I really thought that he might be bored by the PCA Pens For KIds presentation. So if the PCA can manage to get a 7 year old who has been raised in a house that manufactures pens excited about pens all over again...imagine what they can do for your child, and what that impact might have within our fun hobby!

The PCA gives these presentations for kids at pretty much every pen show. If you can attend a pen show, you'll love it! If you can bring your youngsters, they will love the show and the PCA Pens for Kids Presentation!

The Michigan show is sometimes sporadic, so I don't always include it on my Pen Show Calendar.

We're Back! We're Exhausted! Another Great DC Pen Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We're back from the DC Pen Show, and as usual, I'm swamped with emails! I'm plowing through them now, so if you are expecting a response from me, you should get it today or tomorrow.

Chicago Pen Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We'll be heading to the Chicago for the Pen Show very soon!

HIghlights from the video...

1. The Pearl Limited Edition Group Buy was a big success. If there is interest, this can be an annual event.

2. See the Chicago Pen Show Inventory!

3. Next week, Eric and Dan with the Fountain Pen Geeks will be visiting the shop for a couple days. Expect so see some neat things as a result.
