We are all set with a pretty exciting Limited Edition pen made from Tim McKenzie’s DiamondCast™! This will be our first Limited Edition pen made from Tim’s material, although we already have plans for more!
We’ve been exploring more and more with “craft” materials for over a year now, and honestly we should have been using these a long time ago! We are very happy with all qualities of these materials. As opposed to our normal acrylics, they really open up some amazing creative iterations that otherwise aren’t always possible coming from our overseas large-scale acrylic manufacturers.
We also feel that it’s important for us to support fellow small US-based businesses like Tim’s. Tim’s materials in my opinion are better and more unique than overseas large-scale acrylic manufactures for many of the same reasons that Edison Pens are unique. Smaller scale production allow both Tim and Edison to give special attention to details that larger scale manufacturers cannot always take the time to deal with. We feel that it’s fantastic for a craft US-based penmaker to team up with a craft US-based material maker.
So our Limited Edition Collier is made from two of Tim’s DiamondCast™ materials. “Metallurgy” and “Smoke on the Water”. Full resolution versions of these images can be seen here.
This edition will be limited to only 50 pens from each material, for a total of 100.
The edition is numbered from 1 to 50 in each material.
These pens have all of their nibs carefully tuned and are ready to ship immediately.
Pricing for these pens are $225 with a Steel nib or $325 with an 18k nib. So you know, our pricing for a custom Signature Line version of the Collier made from Tim’s materials would normally be $290 steel, or $390 18k. But since these pens are made assembly-line style in batches rather than one at a time, we can offer this discount while still attending to the same fine details.

I just received my pen today (Smoke on the Water, EF). Absolutely stunning and classy. The pen is a perfectly smooth and well-tuned EF; thank you for making sure it writes well before shipping. This is my second Edison pen and I am very happy I discover your company and your pens. I look forward to seeing other LEs/group-buys in the future.

Hi Brian, I received my Limited Edition Smoke On The Water Collier today. Very beautiful…layered in depth and when the light catches it, the diamonds in the DiamondCast add that something special to an already beautiful pen. I’m glad you released in Collier, which is my all-time favorite shape. Your nibs always write perfectly out of the box too.
I too look forward to seeing other limited editions in the near future.
