Ohio Pen Show! With Brooks Limited Edition Menlo!

Hi Pen Fans!

We’re excited to be coming back to the Ohio Pen Show this weekend!

We will be bringing a Limited Edition pen. It is a Bandless Menlo in Jonathon Brooks Cenote.

This LE pen is exclusive to attendees of the Ohio Pen Show.

The Limited Edition is a Menlo, but we’ve left off the centerband for a very sleek look. Then Jonathon’s Cenote is a pretty amazing green and blue recipe that really pops!

The edition will be limited to 15 pens. At past pen shows, our LE exclusives have sold pretty fast. Not everyone can attend each day of the show, and many cannot get off work to attend Friday. For this reason, we will limit our Friday sales of this LE to 10 pens only, and our Saturday sales to 5 pens. It will be first come, first served each day.

The price for this LE pen will be $275 with a Steel nib in Fine, Medium, or Broad.

Outside of this Limited Edition pen, of course we’ll be bringing lots and lots of our current inventory. We have been very busy making inventory specifically for this show. In fact, we’ll be bringing more than 400 pens!

So as of publishing this post, our Current Inventory Galleries have been updated with lots of new pens that will be available at the show. If you can’t attend the Ohio show this weekend, any pens that don’t sell at the show will be available when we return. Feel free to email me with an inquiry if something appeals.

We hope to see you this weekend!

Detroit Pen Show this Weekend! We Will Be There Saturday and Sunday!

Hi Pen Fans!

We will be attending the Detroit Pen Show this coming weekend on the 21st and 22nd!

However, we will need to miss Friday! Our son is a Senior in High School (where has the time gone?), and we will attend an event at Friday night’s football game honoring the Seniors and their parents.

So we will be arriving late Friday night, setting up early Saturday morning (pumped full of coffee), and staying until the end of the show on Sunday.

I haven’t had time to count exactly, but will be bringing more than 400 pens to the show! We will have plenty of our newest Collier Grandes with the big #8 nib, as well as plenty of pens made from ‘craft’ materials by Jonathon Brooks, Jennifer Earley, and Tim McKenzie.

Click here to see all Collier Grandes that will be coming to the show.
Click here to see all pens made from a ‘craft’ material that we will be coming to the show.

To see all pens that we will be bringing, please visit our Current Inventory Gallery, or you can watch the slideshow at the bottom of this post.

This Current Inventory Gallery has been updated as of today with about 75 new pens! If you cannot attend the pen show and are interested in any of the pens that are currently inventoried, email me and I can let you know of the availability of any of these pens before or after the show.

We hope to see you soon in Detroit!

New LE Premiere, Current Inventory Updated, and Detroit Show Dates

Hi Pen Fans.

I want to quickly cover 3 topics in this update.

1. A new Limited Edition Premiere through the Goulet Pen Co. was just announced! It has been a while since we have done a special edition Premiere with the Goulets, and I think that this will be very well received.

This Premiere is from an amazing material made by Jennifer Earley with Stormwind’s Creations. Jennifer has been making materials for us for good while now and her work continues to amaze us!

This edition is limited to 200 pens.

You can find the details regarding this pen here

2. We have updated our Current Inventory Galleries with a lot of new pens. This includes a good amount of Collier Grandes and also plenty of pens made from materials by Jennifer Earley, Jonathon Brooks, and Tim McKenzie.

So there are more than 400 pens now in our inventory, all of which are ready to ship. See here for these pens, or you will see a slideshow with these pens at the bottom of this post.

3. We will be attending the Detroit Pen Show this year, but we will have to miss Friday! Our son is a Senior in High School (I have no idea where the time went), and he will be honored at an event that Friday night. So we will be arriving very late Friday, October 20th. Then we’ll be set up on Saturday the 21st, and Sunday the 22nd only.

We will provide more details regarding the Detroit Show as we get closer to the date.

Please let me know of any questions.

Current Inventory Updated and Hope to See you in Baltimore!

Hi Pen Fans!

In preparation for the Baltimore Pen Show, we have been working on stock of our Current Inventory Pens.

We’ve made a lot of new pens, and mostly from craft materials by Jonathon Brooks, Tim McKenzie, and Jenn Earley (stay tuned for news regarding  Jenn, as she is a new material maker for us).

We have also added lots of Collier Grandes, which have been awfully popular since we introduced it!

To see All Current Inventory Pens that are ready to ship, CLICK HERE (or see the slideshow below).

If you are interested in any of these pens that are ready to ship, you can email me to narrow details.

Then we are definitely looking forward to the Baltimore Pen Show, which is the weekend of March 10th! The last time that we attended Baltimore was just before Covid, so we truly miss seeing our Baltimore show friends!

We hope to see you soon in Baltimore!

Stamped #8 Edison Nibs and Current Inventory Updated!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m very happy to announce that our #8 steel nibs are now coming to us stamped with our logo.

We had plans to introduce this nib with branding from the beginning, but we didn’t want our customers to wait too long for them to arrive. This why we launched the Collier Grande with a nib that did not have any branding at the beginning. Initially, we were expecting these nibs to be ready later this year, but they were finished much earlier than what we had anticipated.

The Collier Grande is the only model that accepts this nib, but we have plans for more designs using it.

For those that already purchased the Collier Grande with the original unbranded nib that would like to switch to this version, we can trade for a restocking fee of $20 including domestic return shipping. There are some Edison customers who prefer the simplicity of the blank version, so we’re happy to replenish our inventory of blank versions for those that would like to trade.

In addition to this, we have recently updated our Current Inventory Gallery with new Collier Grandes! This pen has been very popular and has sold fast. It’s been difficult for us to keep inventory that is ready to ship, but we have some that are ready to go! You can see them here.

Please reach out with any questions!

Current Inventory Updated Post-Chicago Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We had such a great time at the Chicago Pen Show! After more than 2 years, is was so nice to see our old friends and meet some new ones!

We made lots of pens for inventory at the Chicago Show. But of course, not all of them sold at the show. Last week we were able to photograph all of the new pens that we made for the show. Those new pens are now listed within our Current Inventory Gallery of more than 400 pens.

Click here for the Current Inventory Gallery

If you are interested, here are all pens that are currently inventoried made from materials by Jonathon Brooks and/or Tim McKenzie, as these have proven to be very popular!

Please use the links above to see all pens that are ready to ship, but I’ll also attach a slideshow below.

If you are interested in any of these pens that are ready to ship, you can email me to narrow details.

Chicago Pen Show and LE Exclusive Comet for the Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We’ll be attending the Chicago Pen Show this weekend (our first since Covid!)

We will be bringing a Limited Edition Pen that is exclusive to the Chicago Show! This is a Comet made from Jonathon Brooks Forged Patina. Please see the video below for all details.

The edition will be limited to only 15 pens. They will be priced at $275 with a Steel nib or $375 with an 18k nib.

We will limit our Friday sales to 10 pens only and our Saturday sales to the remaining 5 pens. First come, first serve each day. We realize that a lot of people can’t get off of work to attend a pen show on a Friday and we want everyone who wants this pen to have a shot at it.

If you cannot attend the pen show and like this material, we do have plenty of it left for custom pens. While we cannot make a pen identical to this Comet and also abide by the “rules” of a Limited Edition, we can still take custom orders for other pen models made from the same Forged Patina material. Be sure to email me if you’d like to speak about a non-limited edition pen made from this material.

Outside of this Limited Edition pen, of course we’ll be bringing lots and lots of our normal inventory to the show. Actually, we’ll be bringing inventory exceeding 425 pens! Please see the video above for all of these pens. We normally need 2 tables for pen shows, but we’re stepping it up with 3 tables this time! We will have pens made from materials that we’ve never brought to a pen show before, including lots and lots of pens made from craft materials by Jonathon Brooks and Tim McKenzie.

Click here to see all pens that we’ll be bringing to the pen show.

Click here to see all pens we are bringing that are craft materials from Jonathon or Tim.

We hope to see you in Chicago!

Current Inventory Updated! Lots of Comets!

Hi Pen Fans!

When we introduced The Comet back in December, the response was truly unexpected! We had around 30 custom Comets inventoried when we made this announcement to be sure that our customers wouldn’t have to wait through our custom backlog to get one.

Nearly all of them sold out! So a couple of weeks ago, we began making more Comets. We now have more than 40 that are ready to ship. Of course, you can always place a custom order for any Comet in any configuration, but that will go to our custom queue which is currently about 6-7 weeks.

So in addition to our normal Current Inventory of about 350+ pens, we also have just added plenty of Comets to meet the demand that we’ve had.

If you are interested in seeing only the Comets that are currently inventoried and ready to ship, click here.

In particular, we’ve had a lot of fun making comets from craft materials coming from Jonathon Brooks and Tim McKenzie. Click here to see all Comets made from Jonathon’s materials, and here to see Comets made from Tim’s materials.

If you are interested in seeing all pens that are ready to ship (not just Comets), click here or see the slideshow below.

Please reach out with any questions!

Everyone Stay Healthy and Current Inventory Updated!

Hi Pen Fans!

First off, we truly hope that you as well as your friends and family are all healthy during this crazy time! At Edison, we are business as usual, but we’re also a relatively small operation. As long as things don’t get worse in Ohio, we’ll remain in operation. But we are taking all precautions and working remotely where we can.

But while being cooped up, I suppose that browsing some excellent pens is a good way to spend time! With that in mind, our Current Inventory Galleries have been updated. Rather than waiting through our current 11 week backlog for a custom order, these pens are all ready to ship immediately for those interested.

A lot of these pens were made in preparation for the Baltimore Pen Show. There are lots of new Menlo Draw Fillers in some excellent translucent materials that we’ve never used before.

Also, we have taken some of Jonathon Brooks’ amazing materials and used it for our Current Inventory. You can see them here.

Lastly, we’ve made plenty of our newest model, the Brockton. This is the first time that we’ve had current inventory Brocktons ready to ship. You can see those here.

I will place a slide show below that shows all pens that are ready to ship, or you can click here for the Current Inventory Galleries.

Again, everyone please use all precautions during this time until things are in the clear. We’ll be doing the same.

Current Inventory Updated and (gasp) No More Binder Flex nibs!

Hi Pen Fans.

A quick post with a couple of topics

First, the inventory that we made for the San Francisco Pen Show has been photographed and uploaded to our galleries. There are about 50-60 pens that are new to the galleries and ready to ship. Click here to see all of the pens that are ready with no waiting. Email me if you are interested in one of these pens.

Below is quick slideshow of these pens or you can click this link for the gallery.

Next, we can no longer offer Binder Flex nibs. 🙁

Say it ain’t so!

It’s been about 3-4 years since Richard Binder announced his retirement. Since then I’ve considered myself lucky that he was willing to continue making flex nibs for us, in spite of his mostly retired status.

I knew that the day would come when Richard would want to either back off or stop completely, and that day has come unfortunately.

So we can no longer offer Binder Flex Nibs, I’m sorry! All of the flex nibs that we have left are accounted for with backlogged orders. So if you have an order in with us that involves a flex nib, fear not! We do have your nib!

I’d like to take a minute to thank Richard for doing these flex nibs for as long as he did. Richard was essentially continuing to do me a favor as a friend after his retirement, and I’ve always been very grateful that he continued making these for Edison as long as he did.

Please don’t forget that we still do offer Edison Stock Flex Nibs. These nibs are definitely quite respectable as what I call “modern” flex, whereas Richard’s nibs were just like vintage “wet-noodles’, both having their place.

Please reach out with any questions.
