Covid Delays! So We Are Allowing YOU to Choose the Next Production Line Collier!

Hi Pen Fans!

Unfortunately, we are experiencing Covid-related delays from one of our materials suppliers. At this point, we are completely out of the Rock Candy that we use for the Production Line Collier!

Our supplier will get Rock Candy to us as soon as they can, but they are working with a very small staff due to virus-related restrictions. So our order is significantly delayed, with no definite date of arrival.

Here’s our plan….

We need to temporarily stop manufacturing the Collier in Rock Candy. We will offer a replacement until our shipment of Rock Candy arrives.

And YOU can choose what it will be!

We have a poll set up so that all of our customers can choose between four excellent materials that will be the new Production Line Collier.

This new material will be temporary. We will continue to manufacture the Collier out of this new material until our shipment of Rock Candy arrives. At that time we will will stop manufacturing the new material and resume the Rock Candy.

So here are the four materials that we are allowing our customers to choose from!

A = Pearlized Juniper
B = Dreamy
C = Polar Crunch
D = Lapis Lazuli Flake

You can see additional photos of each material by clicking these links…

The poll will remain open until Sunday evening. Then on Monday morning, we’ll begin manufacturing the new Collier! I will estimate that it will take about 2+ weeks for us to get proper inventory built and then get the pens into the hands or our retailers.

Please reach out with any questions.

Menlo Converter Filler to the Production Line! Pearlette being phased out…

Hi Pen Fans!

It’s been a while since we’ve introduced a new model to our Production Line, but now is the time!

The Menlo has been a very popular pen within our Signature Line since we introduced it. The Signature Line version is typically a Draw Filler, but we have engineered the Menlo to be a Converter Filler for the Production Line!

We will be offering this in three materials. Sweet Honey, Blue Grotto, and Fingerpaints.

All three of these pens are available at the retailers listed here.

Specifications
Weight 18.5 grams/.652 oz
Capped Length 143mm/5.620”
Posted Length to Nib Tip 165mm / 6.490”
Body Length to Nib Tip 128mm / 5.030”
Body Diameter 13.1mm / .515”
Cap Diameter 14.4mm / .560”
Section Diameter at Narrowest 9.6mm / .38”
Section Length 17.1mm / .670”

Sweet Honey is a material that we’ve never used before. This comes from the same supplier as our Rock Candy Collier, so it has that nice “near-celluloid” feel.

Blue Grotto is a fantastic Dark Blue/Pale Blue combination. We have also never used this in the past, and it comes from the same supplier as the Rock Candy Collier, so it also has that “near-celluloid” feel.

Lastly, Fingerpaints might look familiar to many of you, as we are currently using this material in the Pearlette. It’s been very popular, so we wanted to continue using it in the Menlo.

Speaking of the Pearlette, we will begin a phase-out of the Pearlette from the Production Line. We will continue to manufacture the Pearlette for the Production Line for about a month then we will cease manufacturing the Pearlette for the Production Line. So if you’ve ever thought about a Production Line Pearlette, now is the time! Of course, we can still manufacture custom Pearlettes, but we can’t offer those at the same price as the Production Line version.

If anyone has any questions, please reach out!

Introducing the Ascent! A New Edison/Goulet Exclusive!

Hi Pen Fans!

It’s been since at least 2011 that we’ve been working with the Goulet Pen Company on some very nice exclusive and special edition pens. Many of you are very familiar with the Premiere, which is been the flagship design of the Edison/Goulet collaboration since the beginning.

Well, it’s time for our collaboration to bring about a totally new model…the Ascent!

This is a pen that I began designing some months ago. The idea was based on many people stating that the Premiere’s pointed ends were less desirable and wishing for an alternative. So this design (while completely different than the Premiere) had the main goal of rounded over ends. In the end, the design ended up being a kind of “mini-Collier” in many aspects, especially the bull-nosed shape of the finial.

So anyone who isn’t a fan of the pointy ends on the Premiere and have also wished for a similar (but smaller) Collier-esque design should love this pen!

Below you can see Brian Goulet’s announcement video…

These pens are in stock and ready to ship over at The Goulet Pen Co.

For all additional details you can watch the video above, visit the Goulet Pen Co Store, or read the Blog Post announcing this pen.

Please let me if there are any questions!

Vanness Pens Carrying the Production Line!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m happy to announce that Vanness Pens is now carrying the Edison Production Line!

Most of you know that we are rather choosy as to who carries our line, and this addition to our retailer lineup is no exception.  I’ve known of Mike and Lisa Vanness and their excellent pen shop in Little Rock for a while now.  We had a chance to meet each other live at the DC Pen Show last year and also this year. During those visits, we figured that our businesses compliment each other’s very well!

So have a look at their Edison selection, and tell Mike and Lisa that we sent you!

Have a great day!

Herald Being Discontinued from the Production Line

Hi Pen Fans!

Just a quick blog post to make everyone aware that we will be discontinuing the Herald from the Production Line.

This has nothing to do with popularity.  Actually, the Herald has done very well for us in the Production Line.  We are simply interested in refreshing the line from time to time.  We have something new in mind to add to the Production Line, and it doesn’t make sense to keep the Herald with this one coming.

We hope to introduce this new pen to the Production Line in the next month or two to replace the Herald.  We have our materials on the way now, and will begin manufacturing as soon as it arrives.

So for those of you who have contemplated a Herald purchase from the Production Line, now is the time! All Heralds are currently in the hands of our retailers, and once they are sold out, they are sold out.  Go here to see the retailers that carry the Herald.

And for those of you who love the Herald design, fear not…we can still make custom Heralds for you.  Of course, we can’t offer custom versions at the Production Line price, but we can still make them for you.

Thanks!

Indy-Pen-Dance Carrying the Production Line!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m proud to announce that we have a new retailer in the US carrying our Production Line.

If you look at our list of retailers, you’ll see that we very carefully choose who sells Edison Pens, and this addition is no exception.

Mike and Linda Kennedy run Indy-Pen-Dance. If you are not familiar with Mike and Linda, they are relatively new to the scene, but they’ve been taking some pretty large steps in a very short time.

Mike and Linda are both proteges of Richard Binder, having trained with him for the last 3-4 years. As Richard approaches retirement, he has stopped his retail sales (including Edison), as many of you have noticed. With Richard’s endorsement, Mike and Linda have been working to take up his slack. The idea is for Mike and Linda to take over Richard’s previous role in the pen market in every way.

This will now include sales of the Edison Pen Production Line.

Many of you might remember that the Edison Production Line, as sold through Richard, included his thorough testing of every nib prior to shipping, or “Binderizing” at no extra cost. Mike and Linda will also offer this service with all pen sales, as well as custom grinds for a fee, if desired.

Be sure sure to head over to Mike and Linda’s site, and see what’s going on. You’ll see that in addition to now carrying Edison, they also offer custom nib grinding, pen repair, as well as vintage and modern pen sales.

Have a great day!

Two New Retailers for Our International Friends!

Hi Pen Fans!

I am proud to announce that we now have two new international retailers carrying our Production Line.

First, we have Scribe Writing Essentials in the Philippines.  I have been in contact with the good people at Scribe off and on for a while now, and my understanding is that our shipment of pens landed within the last few weeks, so they are in stock and ready to sell to our friends in the Philippines!

Next, we have Scrittura Elegante in the Netherlands.  They also contacted me around the same time, and it looks like our businesses also compliment each other very well.  Their shipment has also arrived, and their store is ready to sell to our friends in the Netherlands!

Please visit these fine businesses, and tell them that we sent you!

Have a great weekend!

Great News For Our Canadian Fans!

Hi Pen Fans!

It is with great pleasure that I announce our newest retailer in Canada!  Wonder Pens is now carrying the Edison Production Line!  Our Canadian customers seeking to avoid international shipping and hassle now have a great option!

If you subscribe to our blog, you would have received a request about a month ago asking for feedback from our Canadian customers as to which Canadain retailer each of you like to see carrying the Edison Line.  Overwhelmingly (by a huge margin), Wonder Pens was the highest recommended.

And there’s little surprise from me.  Although I’ve never met Jon and Liz Chan live, we’ve done business previously, and I’ve been following their blog for a while now.  They definitely embody the qualities that we look for in our retailers.  We are always quite choosy about who carries our line, and our current Canadian representation is no exception!

Head on over to their webstore to take a look at their Edison (as well as other) offerings and be sure to check out their blog.  Or if you are in the Toronto area, they have an excellent brick and mortar location.

Thanks!

A New Retailer Carrying the Production Line in the US!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m very happy to announce that there is now another fine retailer carrying the Production Line in the US.

While at the DC Pen Show, we got a chance to meet Leena Shrestha-Menon, who runs Pen Boutique in Maryland.

After some very nice conversations and emails, we figured that our businesses compliment each other very well, and carrying the Edison Production Line became a very easy fit for both of us.

Pen Boutique has a very extensive online selection, but they also have two brick and mortar locations in Columbia and also Bethesda, MD.

Click Here to see the Edison Offerings at Pen Boutique.

Thanks!

Another European Retailer for the Production Line!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’ve very please to announce that La Couronne du Comte from the Netherlands, is now carrying the Edison Production Line!

I’ve known the general manager, Dennis van der Graaf, for a bit now and I’ve also enjoyed following their social media campaigns.

A lot of the reasons for adding La Couronne du Comte to our retailers comes from my European customers telling me how wonderful of a business they run.  So between my relationship with Dennis and the word of my customers, I’m sure that the Edison Production Line will be in good hands over in the Netherlands!

You can see the Edison Line on their webstore by clicking here.

Thanks!
