Holiday Timing…

Hi Pen Fans!

I wanted to put out a quick notification regarding our Holiday timeline.

A lot of people want to get custom orders in with us for the Holidays, but this year we are backlogged significantly (currently about 12 weeks due to our vacation in October, the Ohio Pen Show in November, and Thanksgiving).

So the reason for this post is to make people aware of this backlog.  If you are thinking about a custom pen in time for the Holidays, I would encourage you to put your order in very soon. Orders placed today are shipping the week of December 5th, and the month is beginning to fill up.

Now of course, this really only applies to totally custom pens that we don’t already have inventoried.  Please don’t forget that at any given time, we usually have 200-250 pens that are inventoried and ready to ship.  Or of course, our Production Line is a great Holiday idea as well.  Both of these options will have no waiting.  So this Holiday timeline really only applies to totally custom pens that we don’t already have made.

Thanks!

Current Inventory Updated!

Hi Pen Fans!

Well, our heads are finally above water since the DC Pen Show!

Due to this, we’ve been able to photograph all pens that didn’t sell in DC and get them into the Current Inventory Gallery.

There are more than just a few examples of materials that we’ve never used before, so if you are looking for a unique pen with no waiting, that’s where to go.

You can see the gallery here, or you can watch the slideshow below.

Thanks!

DC Pen Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

We are packing today for the DC Pen Show!

Remember that this show is easily the biggest and best pen show in the US, if not the world. I would recommend doing your best to attend this show!

Below is a video showing the inventory that we’ll be bringing.
(if you can’t see this video, click here)

If can’t attend the DC show and see a pen in the video that you like, email us and we can let you know whether or not the pen sold in DC.

Hope to see you at the show!

New Materials

New Materials in the Production Line!

Hi Pen Fans!

We are happy to announce that we have 2 new materials coming to the Production Line!

First is Burnished Gold which will be used in the Collier.  This is a really nice pearlized material with a good mix of gold and some green tones.  The material can be a bit random in that at some points it can have a real burly grain, and at some points it can be streaky.

This material is replacing the discontinued Silver Marble.  So there are now four Collier materials.  Persimmon Swirl, Antique Marble, Blue Steel, and Burnished Gold.

Burnished Gold Collier

Next is Lapis Lazuli Flake in the Pearlette.  This material has a bit of a Royal Blue or Lapis Blue base to it, but with some nice gold accents within the flake.  This material will be very uniform due to the flake pattern.

Lapis Lazuli Flake Pearlette

This Lapis Lazuli Flake will be replacing the Deep Indigo Flake, which is discontinued in the Production Line Pearlette as of today.  If you like the Deep Indigo Flake, I’d recommend that you buy one now, as whatever our retailers have left is all that there is.  Once they are gone, they are gone.

So the Pearlette lineup now consists of Aztec Flake, Violet Flake, and Lapis Lazuli Flake.

All of these pens can be purchased from any of our retailers that you see listed here.

Thanks!

Edison Leather Goods!

Hi Pen Fans!

The Edison Pen Company is proud to offer Leather Goods!  These include pen sleeves, pen rolls, and hardcover journals.

We have been wanting to offer leather goods for quite a while, but we required the following aspects that are also embodied in our pens…

  1. Top Quality
  2. Handcrafted
  3. Made in the USA

Without these qualities, we never felt that we could stand behind any leather products in the same way that we stand behind our pens.  Our Guarantee that we offer with our pens will also apply to our leather goods.

These leather goods are being made by a husband and wife team who are doing excellent work for us!  This is also the only time in the history of Edison that we have offered a product that we have not manufactured ourselves, with the exception of roll stops and overlays.  But even in these cases, we manufacture the pen itself.  I believe that this illustrates the pride, excitement, and faith that we have in these leather products.

Our leather products are 100% handcrafted in the USA, sourcing leather from a tannery in Ecuador. The leather is responsibly harvested in regards to animals as well as the local eco-system. The leather is primarily vegetable tanned and then waterproofed. This leather will break in nicely and show its character over time. But if you prefer to restore it to like-new condition, you can do so using mink oil.

Please watch the video below for more details.

LE Mina Project is Complete!

Hi Pen Fans!

All of the LE Minas are one their way to their owners!  Tuning all nibs, final touches, and shipping more then 200 pens made for a very busy week!

If anyone who bought this pen has not received tracking information, please reach out.

I’d like to again thank everyone for your patience. We did make our delivery estimate, but just barely. The delay was due to our very busy Holiday season. The next time that we do this, we will avoid the Holidays, for sure!

I’ll attach some pics below.

Thanks to everyone who participated!  Stay tuned for a similar project this year!

LE Minas Will Ship This Week!

Hi Pen Fans!

The LE Minas are just about finished!  We have some final touches to add today, and then we will ship this week!

We have more then 200 pens to ship, so this is not a task that we’ll complete in only a day.  So if you have a LE Mina on the way, please allow flexibility.  You’ll get tracking information sometime this week.  If we can’t get everything shipped by Friday, I’ll let everyone know.

I will be putting some updates on our Instagram account, and also probably do some Periscoping of the final touches and shipping process.  If you want to check this out, our username on both accounts is @edisonpenco.  We’ll also put some photos and perhaps video here on the blog as we move along.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for your patience!  In the initial blog post, I estimated that this project would take 2 – 4 months.  The way that we usually do our time estimates is to under-promise and over-deliver.  However, we took just about exactly 4 months to finish this project.  So we still made our delivery estimates, but I really prefer to be way ahead of our estimates.

Bottom line – this project took us a longer than we would have liked due to the Holidays.  Our Holiday rush really caught us off guard this year.  We’ve learned an important lesson here – we won’t coordinate this project to coincide with the Holidays in the future!

So stay tuned for more updates as we begin shipping and keep an eye on your email for tracking information!

Thanks!
