A Nice Write Up in Design World Magazine!

Hi Pen Fans!

I was real happy to see that the Beaumont Pneumatic Filler was featured in Design World Magazine!

Here’s the article.

The author does a real good job of describing the function, design, and advantages of using pneumatics in a fountain pen.

As a side note, keep your ears to the ground, as we will be launching another new and pretty interesting filling system in mid July!

Thanks!

Edison Offering Richard Binder 14k Full Flex Nibs!

Hi Pen Fans!

I’m very happy to announce a collaboration between Edison and Richard Binder.  We will now be offering fully flexible 14k nibs.

Please see the video below…

These nibs are awfully impressive.  As you can see in the video, there’s little difference between the vintage flex nib and Richard’s work.  Actually, Richard’s nib is offering a bit more flex.

Pricing is as follows (this is the cost for the flex alteration only…the cost of the pen including the 14k stock nib is in addition to this cost).

Fine – $100
XF, XXF, XXXF – $150
XXXXF – $165 (not recommended for beginners.)

Please note – as per our agreement with Richard, we cannot sell individual flex nibs. Only equipped on an Edison Pen.

If you are not familiar with flex nibs, I would recommend visiting Richard’s site to read a bit about proper care of flex nibs.

Let me know if there are any questions!

Back From Vacation, and New Models as Pneumatics!

Hi Pen Fans!

We are back from our vacation.  Albeit short, it was definitely needed!

The reason for this blog post is to make you aware that there are now options to have a Pneumatic Filler as a Huron, Glenmont, or Hudson.

Prior to this, the only pen that we had offered as a Pneumatic filler was the Beaumont.

But the pneumatic filling system has now been adapted to the Huron, Glenmont, and Hudson.

Some of my clients find the Beaumont to be a smaller pen for their given hand size, so there are now some larger pneumatic options.

Now I realize that this might bring up a lot of questions as to which Edison models can and cannot be pneumatics, so I’ll give a rundown….

Currently avaible as pneumatic, ready to order – Beaumont, Huron, Glenmont, Hudson.
Possibly available as pneumatic, please inquire – Huron Grande, Morgan
Doubtful – Pearl, Pearlette, #76, Mina, Herald Grande, Herald, Collier, Encore, Premiere

The pens that are doubtful to ever be pneumatics are due either to the outer diameter, or the necessary shape of the blind cap, or both.

So there have already been some interesting new pneumatic models already ordered.  Below are examples (no Hudson photos yet)…..

Huron in Deep Red Swirl Ebonite….

Huron in Red Tortoise….

Glenmont in Sapphire Flake….

And here’s a neat custom job.  Essentially, this is a Collier Cap with a Glenmont Barrel…..

So if you have interest in a larger pneumatic filler, just reach out!

Cost of these new models will be the same as the Beaumont Pneumatic, $350 steel nib or $450 18k nib.

Thanks!

A Short Vacation….

Hi Pen Fans!

We are going to be taking a short vacation early next week.  We will be gone until Wednesday night.

So if we’re slow with emails, you’ll know why.  We will return all emails on Thursday the 13th.

In the meantime, keep your ear to the ground…we will be launching a new and pretty unique filling system in the next 3-4 weeks, hopefully!  It’s coming together very nicely, and we’re really excited with this!

Thanks!

New Production Beaumont Color – Bordeaux Flake!

Hi Pen Fans!

There’s a new material coming out in the Production Line Beaumont.

This is a really nice deep red flake.  We are calling it Bordeaux Flake.

Actually, this is a material that we really wanted to use in the Beaumont when this pen was first launched, but we couldn’t get it in large enough quantities back then.  I was very happy to get a large shipment of this, and so it’s time to add this to the Production Line of Beaumonts!

Being a Production Line Pen, you’ll buy this pen from the retailers that carry Edison for $149.  The retailers are listed below….

 US Retailers
Anderson Pens
Goldspot Luxury Gifts

Goulet Pen Company
ISellPens
Richard Binder

 International Retailers
Alexander Pen Co (Canada)
Nagasawa (Kobe, Japan)
Nagasawa  (Osaka, Japan)
Stylos.se (Sweden)
The Writing Desk (UK)

Thanks!

A Great Chicago Show!

Hi Pen Fans!

Chicago was another great pen show!  We brought our 7 year old to his first full three days at a pen show, and he did great!  He managed to acquire more pens than I did!  We decided to stay a few extra days to show our son the city, so we just got home late last night….pretty exhausted!

I’ll try my best to get through my emails today, but please allow me until Thursday or Friday if you are expecting an email from me as there are a ton to get through.  Until then, below is a slide show of the Pen Show, and a few pics from our time in the city!

Thanks!

Chicago Bound!

Hi Pen Fans!

First off, I need to apologize as I will not be able to do a current inventory video like I normally do for the Pen Shows.

With the Stealth Pen, the LE Morgan, the Tweaks for Geeks Seminar, some new developments that I can’t reveal yet, and our normal routine on top of all this, things have been crazy busy here lately!  My time is pretty limited today, and getting a video recorded, edited, rendered, and hosted will not fit in the schedule, sorry!

So all of this aside, we’re getting packed for the Chicago Pen Show today!  We’ll be leaving tomorrow, returning around the 8th.  If I’m slow with emails, you’ll know why.

We’ll be bringing somewhere in the range of 250 pens with us, including around 40-45 pneumatics!

We look forward to seeing you in the Windy City!

2013 LE Morgans Finished!

Hi Pen Fans!

The 2013 LE Morgans are finished, packed up, and will be dropped off at the post office tomorrow!

All that participated in this project should have received tracking information by now.

Below is a photo showing the entire project (my apologies for not taking a nicer picture, but in order to get these pens out the door and still give ourselves some prep time for the Chicago Pen Show, we had to move fast!)

The complete gallery is here, or you can watch the slideshow below.

The Fountain Pen Network is currently down, so when it’s back up, I’ll put more pics within the progress thread.

Thanks to all who participated!
